Dr Sarkar is a medical graduate from the University of Adelaide. She is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and also a member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand, European Respiratory Society and Australian Sleep Association. She is a Respiratory and Sleep Physician who undertook her respiratory advanced training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and her sleep fellowship at the Adelaide Institute of Sleep Health which is a centre of research excellence in association with Flinders Medical Centre. She has been awarded the Mark Jolly award and the Allan Kerr Grant excellence in teaching award for her contribution to junior medical staff training. Dr Sarkar takes a particular interest in interstitial lung disease, lung cancer and sleep disorders.
